Groups

  • Group (Ctrl+G, or the folder button) puts the active layer in a new group. Groups nest, and fold open and shut in the list.
  • Pass Through (the default) composites the sublayers straight onto what's below; the group's opacity and mask fade the lot. Any other blend mode composites the sublayers on their own first, then blends the result as one layer.
  • Up and down swap a layer, with everything in it, with its neighbour. At the top or bottom of a group it moves out. Move into Group puts it on top of a group's sublayers. Ungroup keeps the sublayers.
  • G/R/S on a group transforms all its image layers together, about their common centre.
  • Remove and Duplicate take the whole group.
