Magic Wand and Color Range

Magic Wand (W)

Click a colour. Tolerance, Contiguous and Sample Size are in the Select panel. The wand compares alpha too, so a dark object doesn't flood into a transparent background.

Color Range (Shift+W)

Photoshop's Select ▸ Color Range, but live.

1. Click to sample a colour; Shift-click adds more. [ and ] change the tolerance.
2. Enter saves a live CS Range selection: Distance Key nodes against your samples. It follows the plate on every frame, which a baked wand can't.
3. Shift+Enter puts it in the pixel selection instead, to refine by hand.

Loading a saved range back into the selection evaluates it with the same formula the nodes use.
